Debuting in Florida in June, 2022, Disney Wish will be the largest ship Disney Cruise Line has ever had built, and its first new ship in almost a decade – the wait has been worth it, because she’s packed with new experiences and features, drawing on the full Disney cannon, from Marvel and Pixar to Star Wars.

The fifth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, will introduce a brand-new, distinctly Disney design concept with the motif of enchantment, weaving imagination, emotion and adventure into the fabric of the vessel’s unique personality.

“Enchantment is about unlocking the wonder in everything we do and experience,” said Laura Cabo, Portfolio Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering. “For the Disney Wish, we are creating a signature design language that exudes this emotional magic like only Disney can, by infusing every inch of this enchanted ship with more Disney stories and characters than ever before.”

Disney Wish will feature specialty restaurants inspired by Beauty and the Beast, a Super Hero Academy themed around the Marvel Universe, a 760-foot water ride based on the world of Micky and Minnie Mouse, a theatre inspired by Fantasia, an immersive inter-galactic space bar from Star Wars and a central Grand Hall evocative of a fairytale castle.

The Grand Hall is where guests will board the ship. It’s Gothic, Baroque and French Rococo influencesmake the space feel like a castle at sea and at the base of a Grand Staircase, a bronze statue of Cinderella will form the centrepiece to the room. There’s also an atrium stage here for impromptu and scheduled entertainment.

Entertainment aboard Disney Wish

“Every Disney Cruise Line ship is a living theater that offers spectacular entertainment experiences from bow to stern,” said Jim Urry, Vice President, Entertainment & Port Adventures, Disney Cruise Line. “Disney Wish will build on that foundation with imaginative entertainment venues where storytelling and technology take center stage, creating dazzling environments that will make emotional connections with guests of all ages and even become supporting characters in the shows.”

The Grand Hall

From the ornate stage to the grand staircase to the starry chandelier above, dedicated shows and interactive entertainment will come to life all around guests in The Grand Hall, which is intended to evolve from an elegant atrium into an environmental theater with the help of a hidden layer of special effects.

Luna

Disney Cruise Line describes the Grand Hall as its castle at sea, while the nearby Luna will be its town square. This brand-new entertainment hub will transition from a daytime setting for family fun into an elegant evening venue for adult-exclusive entertainment, offering a variety of live shows and interactive programming throughout the day and night.

Featuring a celestial design inspired by the Disney and Pixar short “La Luna,” the venue will be outfitted with a two-story LED screen wall, stylish stage, full-service bar and spacious seating – creating an energetic atmosphere on the lower level that will buzz with community and life. The balcony will offer a more intimate setting for enjoying the festivities in small groups, with secluded seating in semi- private booths.

Hero Zone

Hero Zone brings a completely new category of active family play to Disney Cruise Line with a futuristic sports arena where physical activity will blend with imagination, alternating between an elaborate family obstacle course and a free-play sports hub.

Families will take on action-packed physical challenges themed to some of Disney’s most incredible heroes during over-the-top, game show-style competitions. Balcony viewing space will be available for other guests to watch.

Walt Disney Theatre

Disney Wish will of course feature a line-up of Broadway-style stage shows developed exclusively for the fleet by world-class creative teams. These productions will be held in the 1,274-seat theatre that spans three decks with orchestra and balcony seating.

The theatre is designed to evoke an enchanted forest out of “Fantasia” and is equipped with state-of the-art technology, including the most robust projection mapping capabilities of any Disney ship and a Dolby Atmos 3D audio system — a first for the cruise industry.

During the reveal for Disney Wish, the cruise line confirmed that two all-new productions will debut when she enters service, but they would not say what those shows will be. They did confirm that a re-imagined “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular” will be held aboard Disney Wish.

This fast- paced musical comedy is based on the classic Disney Animation tale of “street rat” Aladdin meeting the wise-cracking Genie, battling the evil Jafar and falling in love with Princess Jasmine.

Iconic scenes and songs from the movie will be re-created on stage, including a lively, Las Vegas-style rendition of “Friend Like Me” and a breathtaking performance of “A Whole New World” atop a flying magic carpet. Grammy Award-winning composer Alan Menken created an original song for Disney Cruise Line entitled “To Be Free,” a solo performance for Jasmine.

Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas

Disney Wish will feature two boutique cinemas, the first in the cruise industry to offer Dolby Atmos 3D audio technology. With 84 and 86 seats respectively, the Wonderland and Never Land cinemas will screen classic and first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and more.

Wonderland Cinema is inspired by the fantastical world of “Alice in Wonderland,” with nods to the otherworldly creatures and distinctive characters who inhabit the ever-curiouser Tulgey Wood. The woodland motif will continue into the ceiling to create the feeling that guests are peering up through the enchanted tree canopy above.

Never Land Cinema is inspired by Peter Pan’s flight from London to Never Land, sweeping guests up in their own flight of fantasy, past the second star to the right and straight into the magical world of movies. As guests revisit iconic scenes such as Skull Rock and Mermaid Lagoon, the venue’s night-sky color palette will light up with the flutter of Tinker Bell’s wings.

Pool Deck entertainment

The upper decks of Disney Wish will double as an entertainment venue. With a poolside stage and a jumbo LED screen, guests can enjoy a variety of entertainment ranging from movies and live sporting events to brand-new deck parties and nighttime fireworks developed exclusively for this ship. More information on these new experiences will be announced at a later date.

Outdoor Spaces Aboard Disney Wish

Staying with the upper decks, this is where the cruise line’s first-ever Disney attraction at sea can be found: the AquaMouse. The family water attraction that will bring to life the adventures of “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” animated shorts with a 760-foot ride above the deck and over the sea.

“Disney Cruise Line has pioneered many industry firsts through the years, including the first onboard water coaster and the first and only fireworks at sea,” said Danny Handke, Senior Creative Director, Walt Disney Imagineering.

“For the Disney Wish, we wanted to continue that tradition of innovation in a big way. With AquaMouse, we’re combining theme park thrills, iconic Disney animation and the magic of ocean cruising to create a one-of-a-kind water attraction unlike anything we’ve done before.”

The AquaMouse

Complete with show scenes, lighting and special effects, and splash surprises, this first-of-its-kind water ride will send guests on a fun family adventure through winding tubes suspended high above the upper decks.

In true Disney style, a backstory has been developed for the ride: Mickey and Minnie are starting a seaside excursion company on board Disney Wish, and cruisers will join them on an undersea excursion to Mermaid Lagoon that will inevitably go awry.

The Pool Deck

In addition to AquaMouse, families will have more pools, more deck space and more dining than any other ship in the fleet thanks to an expansive pool district themed to Mickey and friends.

Located on decks 11 and 12 midships, this area will feature six pools staggered among tiered decks and surrounded by lounge chairs. Throughout the day, guests will enjoy a variety of poolside entertainment on Funnel Vision, a jumbo LED display that screens Disney movies, TV shows, live sporting events and more.

For guests seeking a laid-back environment, another family pool will be available on deck 14 forward and there’ll be a range of brand-new food and beverage offerings, with relaxed indoor dining and a fresh take on quick and casual fare. More details on these will be released later in the year.

Toy Story Splash Zone

For younger children, there’ll be a Toy Story-themed water park where Woody, Buzz and friends arereimagined as larger-than-life rubber bath toys that move and spray water at kids’ whim.

Inspired by the Disney and Pixar short “Partysaurus Rex,” this bathtub- themed splash zone will combine the Old West of Woody’s Roundup with the intergalactic world of Buzz Lightyear, featuring two toddler-sized slides and pop jets, geysers and bubblers.

There’ll even be a double-looping waterslide called Slide-a-saurus Rex that sends guests plunging “down the drain” with the rest of the toys when the metaphorical bathtub overflows.

Other features of this playful pool district will include Trixie’s Falls — a six-inch-deep wading pool with a small fountain and waterfall — and Wheezy’s Freezies, a smoothie bar serving up refreshing fruit blends.

Quiet Cove for Adults

Disney Wish keeps alive the Disney tradition of pairing children’s play spaces with adults only areas for relaxation, and aboard Disney Wish this is taken to another level with Quiet Cove and Cove Cafe, which are themed around the Oceania-inspired artistry of Disney’s “Moana”.

Set away from the bustle of family activities, this relaxing refuge at the back of the ship will offer panoramic views of the ocean from a luxurious infinity pool. The nearby Cove Bar – an open-air watering hole – offersbeer, wine and cocktails, while Cove Cafe is a chic poolside lounge that will offer gourmet coffees, teas, specialty drinks and treats throughout the day.

Adults Only Spaces aboard Disney Wish

During the reveal of Disney Wish, the cruise line said they wanted to give adult guests even more variety and options to customise their experience, from upscale dining and relaxation to full-scale immersion into their favorite Disney stories.

“Our guests are often surprised by just how much fun and relaxation there is for adults on a Disney cruise,” said Laura Cabo, Portfolio Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering, and aboard Disney Wish there are a plethora of options, from the Hyperspace Lounge themed around Star Wars, to tranquility pools, poolside lounges and specialty dining.

Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge

The Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge is a high-end bar styled as a luxurious yacht-class spaceship, giving adult guests the chance to explore the Star Wars galaxy through huge, hi-definition LED screens that double as windows. The richly themed, immersive experience will be available every evening, offering interactive tasting experiences and signature beverages inspired by the films.

The venue’s sleek interior design and metallic detailing is inspired by lavish star cruisers similar to Dryden Vos’ ship in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” The lounge will transport guests to iconic locations from the eras of the Republic, Empire and First Order, employing hyperspace jumps to travel from planet to planet while iconic scenes unfold just beyond the ship’s panoramic windows at each stop.

In addition to Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, adults will enjoy a variety of relaxed bars and upscale lounges aboard the Disney Wish. More information will be released at a later date.

Quiet Cove Pool District

Quiet Cove is a secluded adults-only district offering panoramic views of the ocean from an infinity pool. Here, adults can ake a dip in the pool, unwind in a whirlpool spa, relax in a chaise lounge and indulge in a cool beverage from Cove Bar – an open-air watering hole offering beer, wine and cocktails.

The adjacent Cove Cafe is a chic poolside lounge that will offer gourmet coffees, teas, specialty drinks and treats throughout the day. For the Disney Wish, the sophisticated yet casual spot will get a fresh new look that reflects the Oceania-inspired artistry of Disney’s “Moana.”

Senses Spa and Senses Fitness

Senses Spa will feature private treatment rooms, spa villas for couples, and steam and aromatherapy rooms designed to help guests decompress, rejuvenate and recharge. In addition to a menu of massage, facial and acupuncture therapies, guests will be able to select from a menu of specialised treatments that are customized to their needs, such as pain management and sleep improvement.

The reimagined Senses Fitness will offer state-of-the-art exercise and wellness facilities, including a main room with exercise equipment, weightlifting machines and free weights, along with a dedicated cycle studio and an aerobics room. Complimentary, instructor-led fitness classes will be offered throughout the cruise.

Disney Wish will offer several brand-new spa and salon experiences, which will be announced at a later date.

Dining Aboard Disney Wish

The mix of adults-only and family experiences continues when it comes to dining aboard Disney Wish. The ship will have three main restaurants, as well as a number of specialised family restaurants, but staying on the topic of adults-only spaces, lets look at the specialty dining options that have been announced.

Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement and The Rose are a trio of upscale dining options inspired by Disney’s film “Beauty and the Beast”.

Palo Steakhouse

Palo Steakhouse is an evolution of the Palo restaurant found on the other ships in the fleet, but aboard Disney Wish it will combine the relaxed sophistication of Italian dining with the classic refinement of a modern steakhouse. The setting is inspired by Cogsworth, the film’s majordomo-turned- enchanted-clock.

Located at the aft of the ship, the venue has been designed with a warm, luxurious palette of rich woods and shining metals, with sweeping ocean views. In a nod to Cogsworth, the artwork and details evoke ornate clocks, pendulums and gears. A private dining room will be available for more intimate gatherings of up to 12 guests.

Palo Steakhouse will serve Italian dishes and American prime cut and melt-in-your-mouth Australian wagyu steaks, as well as Japanese Kobe and Miyazaki beefs. Desert will include the Palo chocolate souffle, a favourite aboard other ships in the fleet. The menu will be paired with fine Italian wines and bold craft beers.

Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement

Enchanté will be the most luxurious restaurant on board, with a gourmet menu crafted by three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement — of L’Assiette Champenoise, near Reims, France — one of the culinary masterminds behind the French-inspired fine dining experience at Remy aboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

The restaurant evokes the dazzling candlelight and lavish hospitality of the film’s candelabra maitre d’, Lumiere, with shimmering light fixtures and illuminations. There will be two intimate dining areas and a private 10-seat dining room, as well as ocean views. The international menu was designed by Chef Lallement.

The Rose

The Rose is a chic lounge at the entrance of Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté. Inspired by the fateful flower at the heart of the story, guests enter The Rose through a corridor of beautiful, bespoke artwork commissioned exclusively for Disney Wish.

The grand entrance culminates in a gilded, golden rotunda, unfolding into a plush lounge with rich velvet seating, ocean views and magical illuminations. The Rose will be an idyllic setting for a pre-dinner aperitif or after-dinner cocktail, with an extensive selection of high-end wines and liquors.

If you don’t want to have a full dinner in one of the restaurants, you can also choose from a special menu of gourmet amuse- bouche and small plates from the Enchanté galley, curated by Chef Lallement.

Family Dining Aboard Disney Wish

Disney Wish will debut three new family restaurants themed around an enchanted “Frozen” kingdom, an Avengers technology showcase and the golden age of Hollywood. And during the virtual reveal of the ship, the cruise line confirmed that Disney Wish will include rotational dining, like the rest of the fleet, so guests will get to dine in each of the three venues.

“We love finding surprising new ways to show our guests a magical time as they dine on each of our ships,” said Ozer Balli, Vice President, Hotel Operations, Disney Cruise Line. “For the Disney Wish, our three new family restaurants will be a feast for the heart as well as the palate.”

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is Disney’s first “Frozen”-themed theatrical dining experience, bringing the kingdom of Arendelle to life through live entertainment featuring favorite characters like Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf, while the cuisine will be infused with Nordic influences.

Worlds of Marvel

Worlds of Marvel is the first-ever Marvel cinematic dining adventure, where guests will play an interactive role in an Avengers mission that unfolds around them as they dine, complete with a menu inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Designed as an upscale-restaurant-meets-technology-showcase, the space is outfitted with state-of-the-art Pym Tech and signature Stark-itecture style decor. The restaurant will feature dishes inspired by legendary locales like African Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia and the Avengers’ home base of New York City.

The rooms are adorned with more than 1,000 drawings, props and other tools of the trade, providing an inside look at the evolution of Disney animation from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” to “Frozen 2.”

1923 will serve sophisticated dishes designed with families in mind and inspired by the fusion of cultural flavors found throughout California. The diverse menu will mirror the region’s unique blend of Asian, European and South American cuisines and will feature local ingredients like fresh produce, wild honey and earthy pistachios. All paired with a selection of Napa Valley wines.

Kids Areas Aboard Disney Wish

Disney Wish has been designed to cater to kids of all ages with a nursery for babies and toddlers, a suite of rooms for children, and hangouts for tweens and teens.

“There is no doubt that kids are going to have the time of their lives aboard the Disney Wish,” said Danny Handke, Senior Creative Director, Walt Disney Imagineering. “Where else in the world can kids explore a super hero headquarters, a royal kingdom and an Imagineering lab in a matter of steps?”

It’s A Small World Nursery

For passengers aged 6 months to 3 years, It’s a Small World Nursery will offer babysitting services in a whimsical environment offering games, crafts, movies, books and even drop ins by Disney characters.

In the nursery, toddlers will take a playful trip around the world in the company of Disney, Pixar and Marvel characters reimagined as “it’s a small world” dolls. Each section of the space is themed to different areas of the world, with characters grouped by their homelands.

A nice touch is the entertainment built into the room itself, with murals featuring levers that trigger special effects and other diversions, such as ice from Elsa’s hand, or a lever that sends Aladdin and Jasmine swaying on the magic carpet. A toy train will chug along the ceiling, filling the space with colorful lights, playful sounds and kinetic energy.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club

For passengers aged 3 to 12 the Disney Oceaneer Club has been re-designed aboard Disney Wish, with immersive spaces specially designed to unlock their imaginations. The sense of this being a space designed specially for children starts before they even enter: it has a secret entrance, a slide from the Grand Hall, that can only be used by kids.

The club will feature a number of themed spaces, from storytelling, arts and crafts, and dress-up to toys, games and watching Disney movies. It will also offer more opportunities for kids to have fun with their favorite Disney friends during an exclusive line-up of interactive games and programs where characters don’t just stop by – they stay to play.

Decorated with black-and-white sketches of Disney and Pixar characters, the hub will feature a stage and its own slate of special shows, activities and character appearances.

Marvel Super Hero Academy

Marvel Super Hero Academy is a high-tech Avengers headquarters where young “recruits” will train to be the next generation of Super Heroes with the help of their own real-life heroes, like Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

They’ll watch their choices become nanotech forms around mannequins in real-time. Then it will be time for “Avengers: Mission Training,” a gesture-based technology game where they put their new suits and skills to the test as they battle bad guys virtually.

Fairytale Hall

Fairytale Hall iincludes three activity rooms where kids will join some of their favorite Disney Princesses and Frozen Queens in arts and crafts, reading, and virtual reality games.

Rapunzel’s Art Studio will be a creative escape where kids can make their own arts and crafts projects, like floating lanterns and paintings.

Belle’s Library will be a cozy corner for reading and acting out stories with the help of Disney characters. An enchanted painting above the fireplace will magically transform to bring the tales to life.

At Anna and Elsa’s Summerhus kids will unlock icy powers during “Frozen Fun,” a series of gesture-based games hosted by Olaf, which include snowball fights with friendly trolls and a hunt for mischievous Snowgies – the tiny, playful snowmen created by Elsa in the animated short “Frozen Fever.”

Walt Disney Imagineering Lab

Disney Wish will debut the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, a first-of-its-kind opportunity for kids to discover the secrets of world-renowned Disney Imagineers, with hands-on activities and inventive experiments.

One of the most exciting things Imagineers get to do is design roller coasters at the Ride Studio. Kids will create a coaster along the lines of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain or Matterhorn Bobsleds – and then climb into a capsule where they will virtually ride it. More new spaces and experiences at Disney’s Oceaneer Club will be revealed at a later date.

Edge and Vibe

Edge and Vibe are Disney Wish’s two hangouts for passengers between 11 and 17, with programs intended to engage the unique interests of tweens and teens.

At Edge, 11 to 14 year olds will have fun, make friends and play games in a bright, colorful hangout inspired by a chic New York City loft. A faux-grass picnic area and graphic art displays called “photo walls” will provide opportunities for tweens to capture vacations pics and the space has an exclusive entrance hidden behind a framed piece of art on Deck 5.

At Vibe, teens aged 14 to 17 can watch movies, play games and participate in entertaining activities created just for them. Inspired by a Parisian artists’ loft, the space features classic architectural elements with an electric retro twist, with vibrant neon signs and pop art.
