Sapphire Princess heads home from Asia via Dubai for 2019 European season

Sapphire Princess has departed Singapore bound for Dubai as she ends her Asian cruise season and heads for Europe for the 2019 summer.

Sapphire and Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 shared the Marina Bay Cruise Center in Singapore on Sunday, a rendezvous that marked the end of her Singapore homeporting season before she headed for Dubai.

Sapphire Princess will cruise from Dubai on March 21st, bound for London. The 26-night voyage is one of two cruises from Dubai for the ship this year.

Sapphire Princess’ repositioning cruise from Asia to Europe could also be booked as a 37-night Indian Ocean and Europe Grand Adventure encompassing the Singapore to Dubai and Dubai to London voyages.

Cruise Arabia & Africa has been invited aboard the ship during her port call in Dubai later this month and will be doing a full review ahead of her second cruise from the city later in the year.

Sapphire’s European season will offer a host of new sailings allowing guests more chances to see the Aurora Borealis, such as a 12-day Search for the Northern Lights cruise with an overnight stay in Alta and a late-night departure in Tromso.

Other European itinerary options include the Norwegian Fjords, Iceland, Scandinavia and the Baltic, the Canary Islands and several Mediterranean ports.

Princess Cruises will also be offering Sapphire’s first-ever roundtrip trans-Atlantic voyage from Southampton, a 24-night New England and Eastern Canada cruise with calls in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Boston, New York and Halifax.

“We cannot think of a more exciting year for our guests cruising on-board Sapphire Princess, especially millennials who love bucket-list itineraries,” said Farriek Tawfik, director, Southeast Asia, Princess Cruises.

“They’ll have even more opportunities to experience fascinating natural wonders, many of them hidden from the eyes of land-only tourists. Sailing across the Atlantic Ocean for the first time, guests will also enjoy one of life’s greatest travel experiences,” Tawfik added.

The Sapphire Princess will end her European cruise season on October 31 and set sail for Singapore from Southampton on the return leg of another 37-night Indian Ocean & Europe Grand Adventure.

She will arrive on on December 1 to start her sixth Singapore cruise homeporting season of which the highlight is an 11-night Grand Southeast Asia cruise where guests will be able to watch the solar eclipse on Boxing Day along the Straits of Malacca.
